Hazel Blears needs to get real.

SO HAZEL Blears has grovelled at the feet of Gordon Brown for her part in his attempted takedown. Make no mistake: while Blears' sorrow is very real, it only exists thanks to failing of her own plan.

Resigning the day before the Euro and Local Elections was an incredibly cynical political punch which sought to knock Brown out. It certainly didn't help and played some part in Labour slumping to third in the Euro Elections, coming after UKIP. Unfortunately for Blears not enough Labour Ministers had the balls to realise that Gordon Brown needs to be replaced.

Conveniently, Blears faces de-selection later this month. Already revealed as a chief trougher during the expenses scandal, Blears is fighting for her political life. They say desperate times call for desperate measures. It would seem for Hazel Blears, the more desperate you get the more pathetic you are willing to be. Blears' apology is simply another cynical political move.
